How to Connect ShipStation to Wayfair and Target Plus
ShipStation connects to a long list of marketplaces and carts. Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, Etsy: connect the store and orders show up. So it surprises a lot of sellers to find that two big marketplaces aren’t on that list: Wayfair and Target.
ShipStation’s own help center lists Wayfair and Target.com under integrations that its Solutions Providers can build for you. In other words, there’s no switch to flip. If you want Wayfair or Target orders in ShipStation, you need something in the middle.
Listing Mirror is that something. Here’s how it works.
Why ShipStation Doesn’t Connect to Wayfair or Target
Wayfair and Target Plus are both supplier-style marketplaces. Wayfair works with suppliers through its Partner Home program, and Target Plus is an invite-only marketplace for approved partners. Both have their own APIs, order flows, and rules for confirming shipments, and neither works like a typical storefront connection.
For ShipStation, that means a custom build. For you, it has usually meant one of three things:
- Hiring a developer to build and maintain a connection.
- Paying for middleware whose only job is moving orders from one system to another.
- Doing it by hand: exporting orders, importing them to ShipStation, then copying tracking numbers back to Wayfair or Target one order at a time.
The last one works until volume picks up. Then late tracking uploads start showing up in your on-time shipping metrics, and those metrics matter on both marketplaces.
How Listing Mirror Connects ShipStation to Wayfair and Target Plus
Listing Mirror connects directly to Wayfair and Target Plus, and it connects directly to ShipStation. Every order from every channel you sell on comes into Listing Mirror, and Listing Mirror passes your ship-it-yourself orders to ShipStation as one feed.
From there, the flow looks like this:
- An order is placed on Wayfair (or Perigold, AllModern, Joss & Main, or Birch Lane) or on Target Plus.
- Listing Mirror pulls the order in and sends it to ShipStation automatically.
- You print the label, either in ShipStation or right from the Listing Mirror order screen.
- Tracking goes back to the marketplace automatically, so Wayfair or Target has it without anyone copying and pasting.
Your Wayfair and Target Plus orders sit in the same ShipStation queue as your Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Shopify orders. Same discounted carrier rates, same automation rules, same packing routine.
A Note on Target Plus
Listing Mirror’s Target Plus integration is currently in early access. If you’re an approved Target Plus partner and you ship with ShipStation, schedule a call and we’ll talk through getting you set up.
More Than Shipping
Getting orders into ShipStation is the problem that brings most sellers to us, but it’s not the only thing a Wayfair or Target Plus connection does in Listing Mirror:
- Inventory sync. A sale on Wayfair updates your stock on Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and everywhere else within minutes, so you don’t oversell.
- Listing creation. Build Wayfair listings from product data you already have on other channels, instead of keying it in again.
- CastleGate visibility. If you use Wayfair CastleGate, Listing Mirror reads that inventory so your other channels know what’s really available.
- One place to work. Listings, inventory, orders, and shipping labels for every channel, in one platform.
Getting Started
If you already have Wayfair and ShipStation accounts, setup is straightforward:
- Create a Listing Mirror account.
- Connect your Wayfair Partner account (or Target Plus, if you’re in early access).
- Connect ShipStation.
- Choose which orders to send to ShipStation and turn it on.
From then on, Wayfair orders show up in ShipStation like any other channel, and tracking finds its way back on its own.
