What is Kitting?

Kitting (or Bundling) is an inventory management feature that allows you to connect products in multiple ways to keep everything in sync.

Product Kitting is a general term used in order fulfillment that refers to the assembly of individual items into ready-to-ship sets.

There are a number of ways kitting and bundling will help your online business.

For example, you might sell 3 matching pieces of luggage seperately … or you can use the Listing Mirror Kitting feature to sell luggage packages including all three pieces as one SKU.

Our advanced inventory management software will combine all three items to be shipped as one package or set. Sell one SKU, but ship multiple items.

When using Listing Mirror you can see how many SKUs you have on hand to sell, and which warehouse the inventory is located within. SKUs are also the building blocks for product kits.

A product kit is a group of individual inventory items, or SKUs, bundled together into a ready-to-ship set.

The best part of our product kitting is that it allows you to sell kitted items and individual component items simultaneously and your inventory stays in sync across all channels.

Listing Mirror’s Advanced Inventory Management system automatically looks at your component item quantity and calculates your kit quantity based upon how many kit components you have available.

Bundling Feature

Using the Bundling feature, you will also have the ability to package or “bundle” multiple items together.

Using an example similar to the luggage above, you can bundle together 3 large suitecases and sell them as one SKU, at a discount – this will encourage customers to purchase more. It’s easier for the customer to order and easier for you to fulfill that order and now you’ve sold 3 items where you might have only sold one or two before.

Multi-Warehouse Feature

Once your items are kitted or bundled together within Listing Mirror, not only can you see how many kits you have available to sell on your online marketplaces, but you can also use the Multi-warehouse feature to create kits from products that are stored in completely different locations in different warehouses.
